Sunil P Ilayidom is a writer, a cultural critic, and an orator. He writes and talks about politics, literature, art, and culture. He received the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award in 2006 for Scholarly Literature and in 2013, for Literary Criticism for his book, Ajnjathavumayulla Abhimukhangal. He has published a number of books on culture studies, Marxism and history. His notable works are Kanvazhikal Kazhchavattangal, Uriyattom and Alayadikkunna Vakku. His five-day long series of speeches on the Cultural History of the Mahabharata evoked significant attention and was later published as Mahabharatham: Samskarika Charithram by DC Books.
