Dr R Bindu is a politician and member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). Presently, she serves as the Minister for Higher Education and Social Justice in the Government of Kerala. She is also a Member of the Legislative Assembly, representing Irinjalakuda. She is the first woman Minister from Thrissur, and the first woman MLA from Irinjalakuda constituency.
