Sudheesh Kottembram is an art critic, poet and illustrator based in Kerala. His projects primarily engage with the vernacular idea of Art, poetics and cultural criticism. He has authored four books, including the recent works, Chilanthinritham(collection of poems) and Quarantine Notes on art published by DC Books. Kottembram has received BFA and MFA in Applied Arts from RLV College of Music & Fine Arts. He has further obtained another MA in Arts & Aesthetics and M.Phil in Visual Arts from Jawaharlal Nehru University. He has served as an editor cum designer of Chitravartha, the journal of Kerala Lalithakala Akademi. Kottembram is the recipient of numerous awards for poetry, a Junior Research Fellowship for the project on Visual Aspects of Contemporary poetry in Malayalam from the Ministry of Culture, and a Fellowship for studying the Regional Artworld of Kerala from the Indian Council for Historical Research. He is currently pursuing PhD in Art History from JNU.
