Gopinath Muthukad is an Indian magician and motivational speaker from Kerala. He employs magic as a medium to convey his messages to the public. Muthukad founded the world's first magic academy, Magic Planet at Thiruvananthapuram. He is the first magician in the world to perform an escape act in the style of Harry Houdini's act of 1904. He received the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi Award in 1995 and the Merlin Award from International Magician's Society in 2011. He is also the first Keralite to be honoured as a celebrity supporter by UNICEF, for promoting child right activities in Kerala.
