Wendy Doniger is the Professor of the History of Religions in the Divinity School at the University of Chicago. Her research and teaching interests revolve around two basic areas, Hinduism and mythology. She was a member of Encyclopaedia Britannica's Editorial Board of Advisors. She has published more than forty books including Hindu Myths: A Sourcebook Translated from the Sanskrit and The Hindus: An Alternative History; On Hinduism. She is considered as one of the foremost scholars of Hinduism in the world.
