Prasanth Nair is a civil servant and member of the Indian Administrative Service. Presently, he serves as Managing Director of Kerala Shipping & Inland Navigation Corporation (KSINC). He has served in various capacities in various sectors including Tourism, Taxation, Roads, Water supply, Shipping, Energy, and Skill Development etc. He headed two World Bank Projects, viz. Jalanidhi & KSTP. As District Magistrate in Kozhikode District of Kerala he earned the moniker of ‘Collector bro’ for his citizen friendly and participative approach in governance. Prasanth is considered as a pioneer in using social media for governance in India. Even now, Collector Kozhikode fb page is the most followed District Administration page in India. An avid film buff, Prasanth has co-scripted malayalam movies, directed short films, documentaries and musicals. His short film, ‘Daivakanam’ was premiered at Cannes Film Festival, 2018. He has also acted in a movie titled ‘Who’ which was also premiered in Cannes, 2018. Prasanth writes in Malayalam and English with equal ease, and his articles have been published in Times of India, Huffington Post, Malayala Manorama, Mathrubhumi, Kerala Kaumudi, Kala Kaumudi, and Malayalam Vaarika. He has also served as a speaker at various media and development forums including the UN University-Bonn, TEDx, LBSNAA-Mussoorie, IIT, IIM, IRMA etc.
