Josy Joseph is a writer-journalist based in New Delhi, and founder of Confluence Media, a platform-agnostic investigative journalism outfit. His first book, A Feast of Vultures: The Hidden Business of Democracy in India, won the 2017 Crossword Award for the best non-fiction book. His exposés include the Adarsh Apartment scam, Naval War Room Leak case, and scandals such as the conduct of the Commonwealth Games, the 2G Spectrum Allocation scam. The Ramnath Goenka Foundation awarded him the Journalist of the Year in print media (2013), and the Prem Bhatia Trust elected him India’s best political reporter (2010). He holds a master’s in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, and is presently the national security editor of The Hindu. In his new book The Silent Coup: A History of India’s Deep State, he brings out a whole new perspective about the dangers to Indian democracy.
