Benyamin is an Indian novelist and short story writer who writes in Malayalam. Aadujeevitham, his most famous novel was a huge success that has been reprinted more than a hundred times and has sold over two lakh copies. It won him the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award in 2009 and has been translated into many languages. In 2018, Jasmine Days, the translation of his novel Mullappoo Niramulla Pakalukal won the inaugural JCB Prize for Literature in India. Benyamin wrote twenty books across multiple genres, short stories and novels to memoir. He has also bagged the Vayalar Award, an eminent literary prize in Kerala for his political satire novel Manthalirile 20 Communist Varshangal in 2021.
