Director of Cultural Policies at the Regional Government of Castilla y León, Spain, José Ramón González graduated in Hispanic Literature from Universidad Complutense de Madrid (1982). He completed his Doctorate studies at the University of California in Davis, and returned to Spain in 1989 with a postdoctoral fellowship of the Spanish Ministry of Education.
As a Professor of Spanish Literature at Universidad de Valladolid, Spain, he is currently the Coordinator of the Doctoral Program in “Spanish: Linguistics, Literature and Communication”. Since it was established, in 2003, he has been Secretary of the Miguel Delibes Chair. He is a member of the Editorial Board of Ciberletras (Yale University/CUNY), Hermes Creole (Montevideo), Lyric Classroom (Northern Illinois University/Trinity University) and Hispanic Letters (Texas State University).
As an academic member he has published three books and more than 75 works in national and international journals and in collective volumes. He has taken charge of the reissue of five works, some of them written by exiled authors.
